Mireille was born in Port-au-Prince, the daughter of Serge Lebrun and Marie Therese “Toye” Chassaing — third of their eight children, between Jacques and Pierre Richard in birth order. The family lived in Turgeau until each of the children, in turn, emigrated. She worked for UNICEF earlier in her career.
She married Peter Jeannopoulos in Queens on July 6, 1968 — the wedding that joined the Jeannopoulos and Lebrun families. In 1971 she and Peter bought a house at 34-38 92nd Street, Jackson Heights together with her parents Serge and Toye. She and Peter now live in Hollywood, FL.
